About Poppy Neame

Music and Performing Arts have played a pivotal role in my life since the age of 5 and I have always had a passion for singing. I am told that I sing from the heart and connect well with the audience whatever the occasion. ‘Born to perform’ was what Dave Andrews, the Director of Music at Forres Sandle Manor School said to my parents when I was just 11 years old. That is where it all began.

After attending Music Makers in Fordingbridge, Musicale in Salisbury and Stagecoach Performing Arts School for 10 years, I won a scholarship to Chethams School of Music in Manchester for 6th Form. I was then lucky enough to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and continued my studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Greenwich. I graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors Honours Performance Degree in Classical Voice. One of the highlights during my time at Trinity was being selected for a masterclass with David Gowland, the Artistic Director of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme. In 2015, I undertook a 6 month international Erasmus Study Placement course at the top Music Conservatoire in Italy, the Conservatorio di musica 'Guiseppe Verdi', Milan. I also had the absolute privilege of performing for British Baritone Sir Simon Keenlyside CBE at the Wessex Solo Singers Opera Course in 2016.
